Job Description :
We are hiring for a Purchasing Agent/Buyer who will be working in a large distributor setting [50,000 parts are inventoried], purchasing / inventorying small parts for a distributor of products used primarily in the clothing industry.
Candidates in this role will be working with suppliers and customers to make the match between customer needs and the inventory maintained in the distribution center. Applicant will need strong computer skills and be able to work with our inventory system, web applications as well as manual phone, fax and email ordering for those using manual methodologies.
Applicants who typically come from small parts distributors such as plumbing and electric are typically good matches for the position
Required:
*4 years' experience purchasing parts/materials in a distribution/warehouse setting
*Good computer skills and inventory database/system experience
*HS Diploma
Pluses:
*Familiar with Distribution One/Advantive software
*Experience making kits/kitting
*Background in ordering in MSI [units of measure in lengths]
