We are seeking a seamstress/sewing operator who will be sewing and binding assemblies according to written drawings, instructions, bill of materials, route cards, and using industrial sewing machinery, tools, workstations, templates calibrated tools (rulers, scales, etc.). Some of the sewn materials will be used in aircraft and land vehicles as seat belts, other sewing will be for parachutes, seating covers, restraint harnesses for cargo holds, or other restraint systems.
Daily duties will include sewing, self-inspecting work product, Interprets drawings (internal and external), fabricates sewing and cutting templates from blueprints/sketches, identifies and maintains product and lot integrity restraint systems and other related components. Much of the time the work will be in both sewing of prototypes and designs as well as actual production of the sewn materials.
*3 Years’ experience in sewing /seamstress work (operating machinery) in a manufacturing environment.
*Good hand/eye coordination for manipulating, handling and constructing items
*Ability to operate a single & double needle machine, performing multiple stitch types.
*Familiar with operating grommet and snap machines and bar tack and binder
*Hours are 5AM-3:30PM
*HS diploma or equivalency
