Pay Rate $47.75 per hour
Per diem Yes split available
Overtime Yes 5-10 hours/week typically
Shifts Monday-Thursday 4x40

Our client is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to military standards and to communicate clearly and effectively.







Required

*Experience acquiring and verifying highly technical subject matter content by interviewing engineers and other technical experts, observing production methods or other demonstrations, and reviewing technical specifications, modification kits, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications. 

*Experience planning, writing, editing and in-prosses reviews (both formal and informal) tasks required to complete project. 

*Experience writing highly technical content for procedure manuals, service manuals, and related technical publications that describes the installation, operation, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment. 

*Highly proficient in XML authoring and Arbortext Editor. 

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

*Requires a current Secret clearance (or higher) with an investigation w/in the past 6 years.







Desired

*Experience with military weapons systems or other highly complex technical systems. *Experience authoring content to USAF and DON military standards. 

*Experience authoring in S1000D 4.1 standard is preferred. 

*Familiarity with Simplified Technical English.
